On the eve of his sixth anniversary in charge, Mikel Arteta has made it clear that his longevity in North London is fundamentally dependent to delivering trophies.

The Spanish coach was appointed on the 20th of December in 2019 and promptly led the team to an FA Cup triumph a short time later. Yet, that first major trophy stands as his lone significant piece of silverware after taking over from Unai Emery.
“Absolutely,” the manager said when questioned about remaining in charge after his current deal. “However, it is about today. And many things need to fall into place in the next few months as well to earn the right.”
