Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that defies conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Uncovered
According to the formal release, "An unusual meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of prohibited practices and fearsome changes resonate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine cult.
The adventure centers on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Changes
The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser concludes with a striking scene showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Material
Players who accomplish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside multiple items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's third no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
